Harry Lund is Dorset's Coach Representative. He works closely with the Dorset Tennis committee and local coaches to promote and develop tennis opportunities for players of all ages and abilities. He focuses on building strong relationships with local coaches, identifying areas for improvement in tennis coaching and organising coaching clinics and workshops to support professional development.

Course Overview Make an impact on the landscape of female participation and performance in tennis. Improve your coaching by developing your understanding of the distinct physiology of female athletes and its relationship to technical norms and development.

Please note: This is NOT a coaching qualification.
This course will provide Coaches with some elementary knowledge and skills to offer basic Padel coaching to their repertoire. The learning outomes for this course are:
- Understand game situations and court positioning for Padel and how to teach them
- Learn some basic ways of teaching players how to use the back glass
- Understand and practice how coaching skills differ from tennis coaching to Padel coaching, including feeding
- Learn and play some games to take back to your venue and use with your players

Course Overview

LTA Dorset Coach Forum 2024
An energetic LTA Dorset Coach Forum was superbly delivered by Guy Leverton and Isla Smith at David Lloyd Club Poole on 16th October.
The morning kicked off with high-energy on-court drills focusing on training mental skills followed by an engaging off-court session on building stronger communication with parents, players, and key stakeholders.
Huge thanks to all the coaches who attended - amazing turnout, the largest of an LTA Coach Forum in the country to date.

East Dorset Padel at East Dorset Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, are looking for an enthusiastic LTA Padel Level 2 coach to lead the development and delivery of the club’s padel coaching programmes at all levels. Building a programme for all club standard members, offering a coaching pathway for all members and non-members who are looking to access the club coaching programme. They should have the drive and ambition to undertake the LTA Padel Level 3 qualification when it becomes available.
The successful candidate would :
- be responsible for supervising the daily operation of the Club Programme including scheduling and staffing
- be accountable for coaching and operational delivery of the programme
- deliver club group coaching adult and junior sessions during term time and holiday camps coaching during the school holidays
- deliver high quality individual lessons with both juniors and adults

Coaches - LTA Fully Funded Mentoring
As part of the LTA's vision 'Tennis Opened Up' and Inclusion Strategy, the LTA offer a Diversity & Inclusion Bursary Scheme designed to provide mentoring support to people from underrepresented groups.
Individuals can apply for 6 fully-funded 1-hour mentoring sessions with an LTA Coach Mentor, if over 18 and Accredited, and any or all of the following apply:
- You are a female
- You have a disability
- You are from an ethnically diverse community
