Our 12U boys County Cup team were in action this weekend (27th to 29th September) at the National Finals in Nottingham.
A wet start to the first day meant matches were played indoors with the scoring reduced to one Fast4 set, unfortunate for the team who were up against strong opposition, Kent. The team battled hard but Kent proved too strong, 5-1 win to Kent.
Thankfully, the weather improved for the second match v Oxfordshire. An ace performance from Dorset with convincing wins in all 4 singles gave Dorset a 4-0 lead, followed by a dominant performance in the doubles the next day, secured an impressive 6-0 victory.
A massive well done to the team – Frederick, Jayden, Monty, Ethan, Josh – who played brilliantly against some top opposition, they did themselves and the county proud. A fantastic achievement to finish 3rd in the country with wins against Oxfordshire, Middlesex and Yorkshire, losing only to eventual winners Kent.
Big thanks to ace Captains Rob and Gary and our supportive LTA Councillor David, top photographer.
