Phil Loose of Wimborne Tennis Club has been announced as the Development Coach of the Year winner in the LTA Tennis Regional Award for the South and South West having won the County Award.
These Awards are in recognition of the unique attributes Phil brings to Wimborne Tennis Club, one of them being the link between community tennis and performance. He continues to have a great deal of success developing county players, with 26 current active county players, 3 transitioning onto National Pathway, and more young players looking to boost these numbers. This is supported by his community activities, with links to all the local primary schools, with over 150 children a week attending after school clubs, curriculum time coaching and supporting staff to deliver tennis at school. The club also has a community tennis programme on site with daily sessions for all ages and standards.
Phil will now go forward to the LTA National Awards for which a National Ceremony is taking place on 19th May when the 2022 winners will be announced. The National Ceremony will be broadcast across LTA social channels. See the full list of national winners here
