Dorset County Men’s Over 65’s team got their campaign under way with a win at home v Leicestershire. Unfortunately the match took place on what was probably the worst day in May with strong winds and patchy rain throughout the match – congratulations to all players for competing with the elements!
Dorset were helped by having resident international Boyd Brackstone playing down from the 70’s team as number one singles. Matt Troke was unlucky in a tight 2 hours plus singles but Rodney Davidson and Alan Edwards got us under way with a win in the first doubles match and eventually we won 3-2.
The team are back in action on Wednesday, 22nd June away to Norfolk.
