The first Dorset Slam of 2023, the Australian Open, was held at Southbourne Tennis Club on a very cold and wintery Sunday afternoon but despite the weather, the event took place with four venues entering a team – Southbourne Tennis Club, East Christchurch Tennis Club, Live 4 Tennis and Christchurch Tennis Club – a fun afternoon was had by all.
Fifteen children competed with thirteen brand new to competition or to competition outside of their own tennis club; some fantastic points were played with all players showing a great attitude and wearing a smile, brightening up a very chilly afternoon.

Dorset Slam is a fun team competition for red ball (8U) players new to competing (or 9U new to tennis) playing against other teams from clubs in Dorset.
