Southbourne Tennis Club hosted a coach education workshop on Disability/Inclusive tennis for Dorset coaches last weekend with Mark Bullock, LTA Disability/Inclusive Tutor.
The inclusive training focused on the principles of inclusion giving coaches confidence to deliver impairment specific sessions and include disabled people in sessions; this included deaf, wheelchair users, physical impaired, learning disability and autism information. Some adults with learning disability and wheelchair players who attend sessions at Southbourne TC went along for some of the workshop so the training could be brought more to life.
The workshop saw a great turnout of Dorset coaches and following the success of the session, it is hoped there will be more in the future.
