To support the growth of local tennis, Dorset Tennis has allocated funding to provide grants to registered venues, coaches and schools to assist with projects which require additional financial support to enhance their initiative or coaching career. Our new Participation Committee has set aside £12,000 to be used to increase tennis participation locally. The process of applying for funds has been simplified to allow more venues the opportunity to apply.
The aim of the scheme is to help with the shortfall of funds for initiatives aimed at increasing tennis participation that sit outside of the venue’s usual activities. We have detailed a few examples below:
- Support venues with the promotion, running and exit routes following an open day
- Provide grants to upskill club volunteers onto the LTA coaching pathway
- Support local coaches on their LTA Coaching Pathway
- School taster coaching sessions with a pathway and incentive back to a local club
- Offer training for Open Court projects/sessions (Disability and Inclusive tennis)
