Dorset Tennis & Padel exists to promote the games of tennis and padel at all levels throughout Dorset (the area covered by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, and Dorset Councils). It became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in January 2025 and is now going through the approval process of the national LTA to recognise it as the successor to Dorset LTA and establish itself as an independent organisation.
Dorset Tennis & Padel’s aim is the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Dorset by the provision of facilities for playing tennis and padel and increasing its profile both in the County and Nationally.
One of the key areas of Dorset Tennis & Padel’s activity is the selection, training and fielding of teams to represent Dorset in inter-county events (e.g. County Cup). The Inter County Cup gives players at all age groups, the opportunity to represent their county and to enjoy some competitive tennis within a team environment.
Dorset are hoping to hold an Inter County Event and also attend UK Padel Events – now LTA Affiliated – in Bristol at Rocket Padel. Senior County Organisers and Captains are needed for the selection, training and fielding of teams to represent Dorset for these events:
