This year, our Participation Committee is dedicated to visiting as many clubs across Dorset as possible. Our goal is to explain the grants we offer to help clubs boost their participation, learn about the exciting developments happening at clubs and hear about their future plans.
Recently, David Lloyd (Participation Chair), Richard Henshaw (Chairman), and our secretary, Nick Chapman, had the pleasure of visiting Charmouth and Bridport Tennis Clubs in the west of the county.
Charmouth Tennis Club, set in a beautiful location, boasts four carpet courts. David, Richard and Nick were warmly welcomed by five committee members who shared their key priorities: refurbishing the clubhouse, possibly installing floodlights, and finding a coach.
At Bridport Tennis Club, they received an equally warm welcome from four committee members. The club has four courts, two of which are equipped with LED floodlights. They are currently seeking planning permission for a new clubhouse.
