We are looking for a volunteer who will take over some or all of the duties currently undertaken by the Treasurer of the Dorset LTA – otherwise known as Dorset Tennis. Our current Treasurer retires this year. Dorset Tennis has a budget this year of around £100,000 which it uses to support a wide range of activities. These include the support of young performance players, fielding County representative teams, organising tournaments and competitions and supporting Clubs, volunteers and coaches to increase participation in tennis. Dorset Tennis has one part-time employee.
The role of Treasurer supports the work of the elected Executive Management Committee and its sub-committees. The Treasurer’s role currently comprises book-keeping, preparation of financial reports and accounts, budgeting and management of the organisation’s bank accounts and financial reserves. In recruiting to replace the current Treasurer there is scope for rearranging duties to fit the skills and experience of volunteers who step forward. Familiarity with the use of Excel will be advantageous.
The role brings with it guaranteed access to purchase Wimbledon tickets each year (under the LTA’s policy of rewarding volunteers), and an honorarium of up to £600 per annum is available for an outstanding candidate.
