We’re thrilled to announce that Lucy Shuker, multiple Grand Slam competitor and Paralympic flag bearer, has officially joined Dorset Tennis & Padel as our Ambassador to inspire the next generation and promote tennis and padel across the county. Fresh from competing on the world stage, Lucy brings her passion, experience, and leadership to our community, both on an off court, inspiring players of all ages and abilities to get involved in tennis and padel across the county.
At Dorset Tennis & Padel, we are incredibly proud to call Lucy Shuker one of our own. As a multiple Grand Slam competitor and a true champion of wheelchair tennis, Lucy represents the very best of British sport, and we are honoured to have her as part of our Dorset tennis and padel family.
Lucy has competed at all four Grand Slam tournaments during her distinguished career, representing Great Britain at the highest level of the sport. She also had the exceptional honour of being the flag bearer for Paralympics GB at the most recent Paralympic Games – a recognition of both her sporting excellence and her leadership on and off the court.
Despite her busy schedule playing ITF events across the world, Lucy recently joined us for our Volunteers Day when she shared her story. Her presence was a true inspiration, especially for our Junior Committee, who were inspired by meeting her and hearing her journey.
Lucy has long been a supporter of tennis in Dorset, and we have been pleased to assist her with funding in the past. Following our recent conversation, we are now exploring how we might continue to support her as she competes on the international stage.
We are especially pleased that Lucy has confirmed her ongoing commitment to Dorset Tennis & Padel. As such, we are proud to move forward with plans to welcome her formally as an Ambassador for DTP. Her story, her achievements, and her passion for the game make her an ideal representative of our values and aspirations. We look forward to building this relationship and working with Lucy to help grow and promote tennis and padel throughout Dorset, for everyone, at every level.
