Dorset Tennis were delighted to support Wimborne Tennis Club’s Charity Day which was held in memory of member Rob Stillman who sadly died of a brain tumour before Christmas.
The event featured a Stillman-Davis Junior Cup competition as well as an Adult and Child fun doubles tournament. An impressive 80 or more young players and parents including Rob’s children and brothers took part, with many other relatives and friends supporting. Phil, Rob, and Justin, the coaches at the club, gave their time and expertise to organise the competitions superbly. The Mayor of Wimborne presented the cups and medals which added to the excitement of the afternoon.
Rob’s wife, family members and close friends made an enormous effort, involving a splendid offering of refreshments, raffle and auction. An incredible £3000 plus was raised in support of the Brain Tumour Charity and Forest Holme Hospice in Rob’s memory.
A wonderful afternoon was had by all.
