Brilliant team effort from our Dorset boys’ and girls’ 12U County Cup teams who both competed in the Play-Offs, 13th and 14th September, for a place in the National Finals – fantastic achievement for a small county.
Huge well done to our girls who finished 2nd. Despite tough weather with matches reduced to a one set Fast4 format, they battled past Kent 4-2 and secured a win v Cambridgeshire in a shootout to win their box. In the final vs Berkshire, playing for a place in the National Finals, they fought back from 3-1 down, taking both doubles to tie-breaks before narrowly missing out – an incredible performance!
Our boys, playing at East Dorset LTCC, showed great determination also with challenging weather conditions playing the best of three Fast4 sets. The team battled hard in tight matches against South Wales and narrowly missed out on a win v Essex which, at 3-3, was decided on a shoot-out. The team went into Sunday playing for 5th/6th place v Avon. The boys gave it their all but a tough Avon side took the win.
